A quick glance at the new Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Smartphone
On July 24, 2018, Xiaomi announced a slew of new phones in the Asian market including the midrange-oriented Xiaomi Mi A2 with it’s Snapdragon 660 processor, dual cameras, and large vibrant display. During that announcement, Xiaomi also introduced a similar yet more budget-oriented version of the phone named Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite with a lower-end yet still capable Snapdragon 625 and Android One in place of it’s customized MIUI Android OS found on the regular A2.
Overview
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is the kind of phone that one doesn’t see very often. It is among those phones which we own and then after using many phones, we remember about it like the good old Nokia 1100. Mi A2 Lite is a sole product of its time, released to meet the consumer demand in all possible way. But it is still called a “Mi” phone which sounds small. Some say it is the way of Xiaomi, “humbleness” which bought them this far.

Mi A2 Lite comes with a metal back and a Full-View smaller notch display. One may turn the notch off in Mi A2 Lite while watching videos, browsing or using apps. The display is a Full HD+ one with 432 ppi which is an excellent deal for the price.
Battery Life
The battery is a 4000 mAh Li-polymer one which is capable of providing up to 19.5 hours of talk time according to Xiaomi (depending on settings of course). The battery is supposed to perform even better with Android One and let an average modern-day user go through two days with one single charge. The 5V/2A charging is the first generation Quick Charge technology from Qualcomm which charges the battery 40% faster than conventional phones.
Performance
The best thing about Mi A2 Lite is its performance. The combination of 14 nm Snapdragon 625 chipset, Adreno 506 GPU combined with 3 or 4 GB RAM, octa-core CPU and Android One is made to provide superior performance in this price range.
Camera
We have seen great results from both 5 MP front and dual 12+ 5 MP back camera. Daylight shots are much better than we expected. We were delighted after seeing the samples of 5 MP front camera and it can even record Full HD videos. Primary video recording is stable with Gyro EIS. Night shots are satisfactory and a fair deal for the price.
